PROMISELAND is the children's place at Holy Trinity and Sunday School is our
most consistent on-going teaching arm of our Children's Ministry.  Children are our love and the focus of all that we do.  We use age-appropriate Bible-based curriculum in each age level.  Our opening session each week, which includes Children's Church with our pastors, begins in room 15.  For 15 minutes each Sunday we worship in a child-friendly manner singing songs that are Bible-based and a lot of fun.  We have a Puppet Ministry and it is used frequently in these short sessions.  Several adults share their talents and love for children and our 5th graders are encouraged to join the leadership team as well.  .

Pastor Grunke with Shaggy

One of the best ways to memorize anything is to put it to music, and scripture is no exception.  This is just another layer of teaching that God uses to equip our children for life situations.

First Communion:  First Communion is a special time in the life our your child as well as the life of our church.  We have one-day classes in the fall and spring each year.  Holy Trinity members - Kindergarten-age and older, can participate in these classes.  The class is full of information and even includes an introduction to many areas in our church facility in a game format.  Each class must be attended by the child and at least one parent.  These classes are held on Sunday afternoon and are followed by the communicants being recognized in a service the weekend following the completion of the class.  The communicants will commune with their families on this date as well.

Third Grade Bible Program
.  During your child's third grade we offer a year-long program to help build skills and a comfort level for our students in using their Bibles.  It's a fun, non-threatening study that helps in finding books of the Bible and builds respect for God's word as a resource for life's questions.  Each child receives a Bible during a special reception. Pastor Grunke presents Bibles and a keepsake photo is presented to each child to mark this special event.

Christmas and Easter.  These are wonderful Christian holidays and Holy Trinity loves to celebrate these holidays in light of children and their understanding.  We celebrate both holidays with special events that are new and fresh each year.  Basically, we celebrate being children and help them see the truth of the Bible.  These are fun family events.  Dates will be in the "Trumpet", our church newsletter.

Vacation Bible School.  This is a major event in our Children's Ministry.  It would be a wonderful week to invite friends and neighbors.  Vacation Bible School will be daily, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon.  Specific dates will be announced in February, 2008.  We are always excited to have volunteers join us in this wonderful week.

Puppet Ministry.  The Puppet Ministry is an extension of our Children's Ministry.  It is a favorite among the children as well as their parents.  We have special events for the children at Christmas and Easter.  The Puppet Ministry is a great tool to present truth in a fun and memorable way.  Watch the "Week to Week" for dates and times of Puppet Ministry presentations.  if you are interested in working with the Puppet Ministry call the church office, extension #104 for more information.

Confirmation -  Faith Inkubators is here!  All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and their parents will be involved in this faith-building ministry.  Classes began on August 20, 2006.  We meet in the "Upper Room".  Classes will be from 9:30 - 10:45 AM.  The first 2 classes in August will begin at 11:30 AM, following the 10:15 AM Worship service.

Junior Youth  (Grades 6th, 7th & 8th)

Junior Youth is a component of Faith Inkubators, our Confirmation program.  Besides learning, Faith Inkubators provides small groups, mentoring and service and fellowship opportunities.  Jr. Youth will meet during the Sunday school hour, about every 4th. week during the leader huddles.  They will also host fun fellowship events and trips at various times.  The goals of Jr. Youth are to provide opportunities to apply their awakening faith in their environment, to see people as brothers and sisters in Christ instead of "different" or "disadvantaged", to build relationships and trust in the peer group and to take on an increasing role in the leadership of the group.  Visit the Middle School (Gr. 6-8) website).

Senior Youth  (Grades 9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th)
Senior Youth will provide opportunities for our youth to use their faith daily and see themselves as a part of the worldwide community of believers.  In addition, the youth are encouraged to live the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) by reaching out to peers at school.  They will have leaders that affirm them and serve as role models for Christian living.  Senior Youth is comprised of two parts:  The youth group will meet to plan events and activities.  In addition, the you are encouraged to participate in peer-led small groups.  The purpose of these groups is to provide a safe environment for the youth to share matters of life and faith.  The Senior Youth normally meet on Sunday night from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.  Visit the Senior Youth (Gr. 9-12) website.   Contact the church office for additional information:  office@HolyTrinityMarietta.org
